We believe that God has chosen to carry out His work in our world today by means of the local church. The church is not a building or organization, but instead it is people united together in purpose, position, practice and presence.
At Victory, our purpose is to…
This begins in the heart, with a personal relationship with Jesus. This love grows as we gather together in worship and to hear the teaching and preaching of the Bible. Our love of God should be the motive behind our service.
“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” (Mark 12:30)
We grow together through the Word of God, through His sovereign work in our daily lives and through the fellowship we enjoy as Christians. The Word of God is the truth of the Bible as it’s taught in services, Sunday School and other ministries.
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)
Jesus adds people to His church, and enables them to serve by His grace. We desire to help every member of our church family to discover and use their gifts to serve others through outreach, discipleship, missions, community projects, and ministry.
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13
Love God, grow together, serve others—that’s our biblical purpose. As a church family we are focused on gospel-centered ministry communicated in love and with grace.
At Victory, our mission is to invite others to…
Believe In Jesus
Believing in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross of Calvary is the only way of salvation from sin. This is more than a just a head belief, but a heart belief after a realization and repentance of sin.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
Follow In Baptism
Baptism doesn’t make someone a Christian. It doesn’t wash away sin. Baptism pictures His death, burial, and resurrection. It also pictures my new life in Jesus Christ. Baptism is one of the first, easiest, and best ways to witness to others of your faith in Jesus Christ, and to publicly declare you are not ashamed of Him.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16
Connect With Other Believers
God has chosen to carry out His work through local churches like
Victory. Once someone repents of his sin, believes in Jesus and follows in baptism, the next step of faith is to connect with like minded believers in a local church. Through relationships with others, God’s people grow and mature in their faith as they serve God together.
” Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
